Why Chris James?

Utilizing this skillset, Chris works closely with his clients to provide customized solutions designed to help each client pursue their unique financial goals. It is Chris’s strong commitment to his customers that he believes will help build sustainable client relationships built on trust, professional financial advice and a commitment to going the extra mile that will differentiate Chris from his peers.

What is important to me?

Two of Chris’ biggest interests are coaching and helping others. Coaching to a large degree is working with each individual to get the most out each player so that the team or individual can pursue their true potential. Chris utilizes that same philosophy with each of his client’s financial situations so that each client can follow a detailed financial game plan to pursue their personal goals. Financial planning is a collaborative process that involves commitment and dedication on both sides. Working initially to identify and prioritize goals, Chris then works with his clients to implement a plan to pursue those goals. Meeting as often as necessary throughout the year to evaluate and adjust the plan based on market conditions and life events.

Everybody works to make a difference. Chris’ vision is to make a positive difference for all the clients that entrust Chris to advise them on any of the financial issues that affect their lives.

Educational/Work Experience

Prior to joining Waddell & Reed, Chris was a VP of Sales at Outdoor Reservations Management Group. He spent over 17 years as a Institutional Fixed Income Sales person at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, Goldman Sachs, First Tennessee and Suntrust Robinson Humphrey. Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware and a MBA from the Kellstadt School of Business, DePaul University in 2003.

Chris is married with 4 children between the age of 8 and 13. He is a lifelong athlete who enjoys competing in various sports. He has completed a Marathon, Triathlon and enjoys Running, Golf and Basketball, particularly with his children. He is an active member of his community and has coached his children in basketball, soccer, baseball, and flag football. Chris is a U.S Army Veteran of the 10th Mountain Division and is dedicated to Veteran’s causes. He has performed Volunteer work for the Pat Tillman Foundation and is a Member of the Military Officer’s Association of America, DuPage county chapter.
